About Us

Services

The Warren County Senior Center is a non-profit and charitable organization. We provide nutritious meals to elderly, homebound senior citizens but we also provide a tasty, hot lunch at our local Senior Center for our active clients. We also serve as a gathering place for senior citizen to come and meet each other and participate in daily activities.

Congregate Meals

Our Congregate meals are served at the Senior Center from 11:30am -12:30pm and include a main course, 2 sides, bread, dessert, and a drink (milk, iced tea, coffee, or lemonade). Guests are invited to come in, sit down, and eat their meal in the pleasant company of the rest of our congregate clients. The activities offered for our congregation include games such as: Bingo (every T and TH 12:30-2 p.m.), and Pinochle(every F 12:30-3p.m.) Exercise (W 10-11 a.m.). We also provide complimentary health and hearing check ups for our congregation along with special presentations weekly.

Home-Delivered Meals

Our Home-Delivered meal program is for the senior citizens who are unable to leave their homes or prepare meals for themselves. We provide these homebound seniors with a hot and nutritional meal every weekday. Each day we cook and package the meals for delivery by our volunteer drivers. The meals we provide contain a main course, 2 sides, bread, dessert, and milk. Not only does our program create a steady daily meal for our clients but it also allows an opportunity for the elderly to be checked on.

Operation & Funding

Here at the Senior Center we operate with a four person staff and our much appreciated volunteers. The Executive Director of the Center is Lindsey Polston who is governed by a 9 member board. The Senior Center is under the jurisdiction of the Northeast Missouri Area Agency on Aging in Kirksville, Missouri and receives only partial funding through the government. The rest of our funding for our Home-Delivered and Congregate services is provided through fundraisers, as well as public and private donations.
